Horrible customer experience. I booked a midsize car and when I arrived they said only full size is available, and they charged me extra $15/day. I asked them to cancel and they said can't cancel since I arrived half an hour late. This doesn't make any sense since they haven't reserved the car which I booked

EDIT: Location closed while I had a new booking with them. I was called the afternoon before my 9am pickup the next day and was told I had to go to another location 10 minutes away and that there was no guarantee I could get the car I had booked. I then had to call their customer service line and have them cancel my booking and re-book at a closer location that had the car I needed. Because I already paid ahead of time, I have to get a refund and they're charging me again for the new booking. Not a good customer experience, I'm looking elsewhere before using Hertz again. Had no issue renting a car for a weekend trip to Sonoma County. I called ahead to make sure the rental car was available on the day of my reservation and it was. I'd just note that they technically say they'll hold it for up to two hours past your scheduled reservation pickup time. Dropping off was easy just parking it and leaving the key in the lock box while they were closed on Sunday. The car we got was basically brand new. Would use them again.

After deliberating for nearly 30 minutes which rent a car to go with, only Hertz listed the sedan I wanted. Plus it was only 20 minutes from home When I got there at 8am they did NOT have the car I reserved and would not honor the same price on any other vehicle. I had to transit to the airport and start over with Budget which delayed my departure 2 hours

I had a confirmed reservation for a Class B car, but when I arrived I was told they didn’t have one. Instead of upgrading me, I was told to pay $20/day to upgrade or wait indefinitely. That’s not how reservations are supposed to work…if the class isn’t available, customers are usually upgraded at no extra cost. The front desk lady who said her name was “Ashley” was rude and dismissive, which honestly explains why there are so many negative reviews about her online. Overall, a frustrating experience and a reservation that meant nothing. I won’t be using Hertz again.

I have never experienced such horrible & rude customer service EVER. I had a reservation to pick up that I had already paid for. They close at 5pm. I was stuck in traffic & called them to let them know I was running a few mins late. The man proceeded to say they don’t wait for any one and they close at 5. So I speed and try and get there as fast as I can. I get there RIGHT AT FIVE. The guy turns me away in the most rude way possible. It was 5pm on the dot and he was already outside locking the door. I tried to explain to him how it was an emergency. He wouldn’t even let me speak he kept cutting me off say “we close at 5.” And I said yes I know that and was asking him what I can do since they were closed. He just kept saying come back at 8am. And he refused to help and answer any questions I asked. And kept saying “I can’t work over time” insinuating by simply answering my question was him working over time. He kept repeating “come back at 8am” and saying “I don’t work over time” I couldn’t believe it. The man he was speaking to me. The face he was making and then he just walks away without even helping me as I sat in that parking lot confused and not knowing what to do. He slammed
