45 year old San Diego native here. Iβve been hitting the dive bars around town since I was old enough to drink. We love what the new owners have done with the place! Itβs still charming and divey, which we like, but without all the grime and piles of junk and detritus everywhere. You can tell the new ownership takes care and pride in their establishment. Great place to belly up with the friendly local regulars and catch a Padres game on TV. Cheers!

High Seas has been such a good thing for this neighborhood. Itβs so much nicer, the vibe is better, and it actually feels welcoming and fun instead of tired and weird. The people behind it are longtime San Diego bar people who know what theyβre doing and actually care about hospitality and community. You can feel the difference. Itβs been really cool seeing this place get a fresh start with people who have so much experience and heart behind what they do. Iβm really happy to have it in the neighborhood.

I'm thrilled to see a refresh of the old Cricket's space! It has the dive bar feel you want (wood paneling, bar stools, a pool table), but is clean with some cool decor and friendly service. The masks adorning the space above the bar and the lighting give it the "high seas" vibe. I also appreciate the Padres bobbleheads!
