San Jose is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and San Jose follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

We normally love the ice cream here as it tastes good and has a very nice consistency, which makes it worth the price. Normally the person making the ice cream puts at least some effort into it, however this time the person seemed rushed or like she didn’t want to be there. She barely crushed the mix ins and rolled it so quickly half of the rolls were liquid going into the bowl. It was empty in the store so there was no need for such a rush. Such poor effort or care put into the making makes you regret paying 15 bucks for a bowl.

If rolled ice cream had a Hall of Fame, Icicles would have a first-ballot induction. Years later, they're still the gold standard. Plenty of places have tried to copy the concept, but few do it this well. Watching your ice cream get chopped, mixed, spread, and rolled never gets old. The best part is that you can go completely off-script and build your own creation with a ridiculous number of mix-ins and toppings. Somehow the finished product comes out rich and creamy while still feeling lighter than your typical ice cream overload. The staff is always friendly, the process is fun to watch, and the ice cream consistently delivers. Sure, the rolled ice cream trend isn't new anymore, but Icicles still feels like the place everyone else is chasing. If you're a fan of ice cream and customization, this place remains an easy recommendation.

Do not recommend coming here if you want little boys that are 16-18 attending you. Ive gone to this location before but this is by far the worst experience EVER. Unfortunately I did not take pictures but can assure you that there was employees who were not working at the time going in and out of the “ice cream making area” they weren’t wearing the appropriate clothes other than a sweater and sweatpants, they also did not wash their hands upon going inside the food area. There was also other boys that kept putting their heads over the plastic cover where supposedly its supposed to cover the “germs” from outsiders. Lastly the way they were all calling peoples names was very disrespectful and because of how loud it was due to their other non working employees and friends hovering over the ones working no one could hear. The only person that was nice enough to ask if everything was ok was a girl working. Its so upsetting writing this and the business doesn't ever reply to the reviews but if you see this and want a family friendly type of place I definitely do not recommend.

The ice cream marshmallow bonfire was not good. The center texture is super strange. It does not taste like ice cream. It’s way overpriced for $11.50. The service here was really bad upon entering. There is a young kid with curly hair on FaceTime with his girlfriend not even acknowledging our existence in the business and gave it to us while they’re having a conversation on FaceTime. Ambience nothing special the inside and outside aren’t clean (all the tables are dirty). Also, the bathroom has tons of graffiti.

The husband and I took a stroll after lunch in DT Willow Glen. We came across this gem because we were curious how the serve yourself boba bar worked. Lee came out to walk us through the process and was super nice. He also added that there’s a promotion now so each cup is $2! That’s insane! He gave us our cups with our desired amount of ice and told us to get whatever we want (unlimited toppings & tea choice in our $2 cups!!!) It was a neat experience to self-serve with the machines. He let us pay after we got our cups filled and sealed (you’re supposed to pay inside before filling up). He was super nice and explained everything. He was also kind enough to let us sample their ice cream which he made on the spot. We unexpectedly got treats and a show! It was awesome customer service and the ice cream and teas were on point. Highly recommend it! We’ll be back for sure and have talked to other folks about it. They too have said the teas were good and the customer service is really good.
