We recently hosted a 90th birthday party at Locanda Ischia and had such a wonderful experience from start to finish. We actually found out about this place from Jessica and the great review she left after hosting her own event there, and we are so glad we did! The fresh Italian food was absolutely delicious, and the drinks were just as great. Shannon was incredibly accommodating and met with us several times to go over the menu, seating arrangements, drinks, budget, and all the details to make sure everything was perfect for our event. The wait staff was amazing, friendly, and attentive throughout the entire party, always making sure the food and drinks were replenished. This is not only a wonderful private event venue, but also a great place for lunch or dinner during their normal hours of operation. If you are looking for delicious food, a great drink menu, and affordable pricing, I highly recommend this place!

The food here was absolutely delightful, and the decor made the whole evening feel pleasantly dramatic in the best way. The deep blues paired with the lemon yellows gave the space so much warmth and life, though the overly artificial green vines felt a bit distracting. We started with the bruschetta, which tasted fresh, and came generously topped with juicy diced tomatoes. The salmone piccata felt like a complete meal on its own, the salmon filet was cooked well, and the vegetables balanced everything perfectly. The lobster ravioli was comforting, with a creamy, well-seasoned filling that didn’t feel too heavy. We also tried the special pappardelle that was scooped straight out of a cheese wheel, and honestly, that alone was an experience. The sausages and mushrooms added such a lovely earthy depth to the pasta. Even the cocktail we ordered, citrusy, sweet, and refreshing, was memorable enough to wish I had written the name down. Service was excellent throughout. The staff were attentive, and genuinely helpful with recommendations, and somehow never let empty plates sit around for more than a minute. We had a wonderful dinner at Locanda Ischia! Our waiter, Roy, was incredibly knowledgeable and provided attentive service. The Hits: The rice balls with truffle sauce were perfect, and the table side Cacio e Pepe in the cheese wheel was a fun, delicious highlight. The Wine: Roy helped us find a fantastic Brunello di Montalcino Fornacina, sourced through their private distributor. Room for Improvement: The lasagna was unfortunately a bit tart and over-salted. We preferred the ambiance here over the Sorrento location in Campbell. Roy even ended our night with a complimentary dessert and espresso. Highly recommend!

The restaurant was a ghost town when we first arrived at 11:30am on a Saturday and although we had a reservation, we couldn’t find any staff members in the restaurant and had to ring the doorbell on the outside. We ordered the Caesar salad, the shiitake truffle fettuccine, and the spaghetti vongole. The croutons in the salad were overly salty and the truffle in the fettuccine wasn’t as fragrant or as flavorful as other authentic truffle pastas we’ve had. The spaghetti vongole was ok but the clams had a lot of sand in them.

We had more than a great time at Locanda Ischia. Great ambance, the decore really sets the tone for an authentic southern Italy dining experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our Locanda Mules. For appetizers ordered the Frito Misto and split a Ceaser Salad. The dressing on the salad was definitely home made and top notch. Entrees were their Rigatoni Alla Vodka (you can add a protien to your pasta) and their Truffle Fettuccine Alfredo. The Alfredo was just the right amount of creamy which accentuated earthiness of the truffles. For dessert two cappuccinos and tiramisu. Restaurant staff was exceptional and attentive without being bothersome. Will definitely be coming back here; if you feel like having Italian give Locanda Ischia a shot! :)
