San Jose is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and San Jose follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

A great find for mediterranean food in San Jose. Adam was great. He recommended us the Zatar and cheese flatbread which was great. So was the cauliflower and eggplant rice bowl. The chicken shawarma wrap was slightly underwhelming but the star of the show was the pesto caprese flatbread and the walnut baklava. Would definitely go back for those.

Another gem of a place for Falafel Wraps and flavorful mediterranean flatbread pizzas that are called the manakish. We ordered the Zaatar & olive Manakish and it was just bursting with flavors. I have never tasted this type of flatbread in any other mediterranean restaurant in the bay. The fresh strawberry juice was also very good. Their baklava is also a must try. We went there a little late for dinner so some menu items were unavailable, but still ample options for vegetarians to choose from. The staff was friendly and our food came quickly. There is ample seating inside and outside!! Overall a good place to eat great food!!

Manakish in downtown San Jose started twith a bang. Their fresh-squeezed orange juice was the sweetest and yummiest! The restaurant is spacious, clean and offers a nice atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. Plus, the convenience of a small parking lot is a major win due to limited street parking. However, the meats on both my kebab plates were a little tough and overcooked. Additionally, a wrap was missing from my to-go order which I only discovered after I got home. I heard this spot is the South Bay expansion of a well-loved original location in Walnut Creek.

I had a little bit of a break in between my day, so I decided to stop by Manakish and see what the hype was all about. Needless to say, it definitely left me wanting to come back again next time and support such a local business. I got a really warm greeting upon entry -- and to my surprise, Manakish was empty. I'm not surprised, considering that they are right on the intersection of Taylor and Stockton, and it was just a lot to take in. There's LOTS of indoor seating, and it was spacious enough to seat families and individuals alike. The pita bread was the MOST freshest pita breads that I have ever seen -- not too hard, but also not too flour-y. For starters I got their hummus, which despite there being too much oil, was just RIGHT in taste and seasoning for my pita bread. I then got a flatbread with cheese and olives, and it was ABSOLUTELY good -- in fact, I was rather impressed at the way they made the flatbread as well! Sadly I did not try the dessert, but I did get one of their mango lassis in a bottle, and it was honestly really tasty, not too sour, and not too milky. Overall, I'd definitely come back and try some more different dishes that I wasn't able to try this time a

Manakish is a standout for Middle Eastern cuisine, anchored by what is arguably the best pita I’ve ever hadβ€”absolutely phenomenal, soft, and incredibly fresh. This bread is the perfect vessel for their tasty baba ghanoush, which pairs beautifully with it. The harissa cheese fries are another must-try, featuring thick, crispy fries seasoned with a bold spice blend and plenty of melted cheese. Even the owner adds to the charm, providing a welcoming and friendly atmosphere that makes the meal feel personal. The falafel bowl is a solid, hearty option, generous with its hummus, rice, and pickled veggies. While the falafels themselves were good, they could have been a touch softer to match the perfection of the other components. For dessert, the baklava offered a simple and tasty finish; though it was more on the ordinary side, it hit the spot. Overall, with top-tier service and world-class bread, this spot is a gem for anyone seeking authentic flavors.
