We just recently hired a family car from National in San Diego for 2 weeks travelling to LA, Yosemite and handed it back in San Fransisco. Staff were friendly and helpful (especially as very jet lagged) best part was having the pick of the 10 cars so we were able to pick one that really suited us, cars in the USA are a lot bigger, so picked one that worked really well. Nissan Pathfinder. The drop off was easy with our family too as our hotel was just across the road from the parking lot, well sign posted too. I would highly recommend them in California.

First time renting a car, and the experience was so good that I will rent from National in the future. It was easy to make the reservation online, and National was the cheapest option of all the rental companies. Upon landing in San Diego, we took a shuttle to the rental car center, and working with Carrie at the pick up desk was awesome. I didn’t feel pressured into buying add-ons or upgrades, and she explained everything so well and answered all of my questions. I felt genuinely cared for, which made a huge difference after a long and tiring day of flights. At the garage, the staff instructed us to choose any car from a certain row, and we went with a Hyundai Sonata that worked well for our entire trip. It was incredibly clean, I was surprised and impressed. It was also a hybrid, which felt very helpful with California’s high gas prices. The return was very easy, and there are shuttles to take you to the terminal from the rental car center. Thank you, National, for making my first car renting experience a great one!

I have been a customer of National for more than 40 years. I occasionaly have to use other companies because of availability, and am reminded each time that National has the best model with the most engaged teams in the industry. I have many examples where they have delivered exceptional service and they are ALWAYS my first choice in car renting. My last trip to SanDiego confirmed, once again, thier commitment to satisfaction. There was a bit of a question on gas levels when we got the car, and the associate immediately adjusted the invoice appropriately. National management emporwered him to make good decisions. Well done.

Excellent experience. Joined Emerald Club for a trip to San Diego and was able to skip the line, and go right upstairs to choose from a variety of vehicles on the Emerald Aisle that suited our needs. Just hop in and drive off. Cost was perhaps slightly higher than competitors, but completely worth it for easy, streamlined experience and excellent customer service.

Honestly, one of the best experiences I’ve had with renting cars. They were fully transparent, no one was trying to pressure me into any extras, staff was gracious and professional from beginning (even at 1 am pickup!) to end—even when I was late dropping off. The process was quick and seamless, and the car was reliable and extremely clean. 10/10 would definitely use again.
