I love OG Joes Westlake but their quality has dropped a lot recently (why did they change the butter and pasta recipes???) so I gave the SJ location a try with high hopes. There's a reason why the SJ location is not affiliated with the Daly City and SF locations, this place is awful! We ordered the pesto pine pasta and a rigatoni and they tasted like airplane food. Ive never had a pesto where the sauce and noodles tasted like water. They also charge $10 for bread from safeway and cheap pre packaged butter! For context, there was drama in the OG Joes franchise and the SJ location is independent from the rest of the locations. Our waiter made it seem like the SJ location was a lot better but the food unfortunately did not prove that claim. Ive been to a lot of Italian restaurants in the bay and have had a lot of pasta, I could argue that this place has the worst pasta ive ever had. I came here with 3 friends and we all could not finish our food (we ate about 5 bites and could not take any more). Im not sure if quality was better in the past but I will never come back. This is a disgrace to the OG Joes name :l

Such a cool place and easy to get to from my hotel. I absolutely loved the prawn cocktail, possibly the best I've ever had. My main dish was the meatball sandwich that sort of disappointed me. The sauce lacked a little something and the meatballs were good but just not great. The service at the countera made up for it though. Andre is an incredible waiter, old school and makes everyone feel like family. He's definitely a professional and does his job exactly like a person should. I recommend Joe's for sure, it's an institution.

This restaurant is really good! The only thing holding me back from giving 5 stars is the fact that itβs extremely overpriced. The taste of the food was great! We got the Veal Scallopini with fresh mushrooms. We wanted it over pasta and ravioli which I was told they normally do, however, they charged me for an extra side and there wasnβt much spaghetti. The service was exceptional Randy Z took great care of my table and made it a great time! I would highly AVOID the garlic bread it was $16 +tax for the most mediocre garlic bread Iβve ever had. We asked to get it with cheese and the cheese was awful. It tasted like Singles white American cheese which wasnβt even fully melted. The ambiance inside is very pleasing!

Came here on Saturday evening at dinner time, and got on the waiting list during peak dinner time. I was told it was a 35-minute wait, but got a table for two before said time frame. The service was excellent. We had the calamari sticks, which was very tender. I had the halibut with a side of vegetable, and was amazed by the portion size. The noise level was loud and vibrant. I like the booth tables.

βA classic, old-fashioned staple in the heart of San Jose. βThe food they serve is essentially comfort food: warm, familiar, and soothing. βThe bartenders at the lounge are pros. They are knowledgeable about drinks and cocktails, and attentive without being "too sweet." βA great place for locals and travelers alike.
