Matcha and Coffee lovers unite. We enjoyed Phinology! Whether your a plain jane or a sweet tooth they have options for both. I think their drinks are strong enough for my preference. Ambiance is great for dates, studies or work. I love their double matcha less sweet. My husband likes Vietnamese coffee with Hanoi egg foam less sweet. We will be coming back soon. i wandered into this coffee shop and was pleasantly surprised to find they offered iced egg coffee. of course i had to try it and it was delicious. i ordered the vietnamese coffee topped with egg foam, and it immediately brought back memories of sitting in cafés in Hanoi. what i loved most was that it wasn’t overly sweet. it had the rich, bold coffee flavor i was hoping for, balanced perfectly by the creamy egg foam. definitely worth ordering!

I’m actually obsessed with this place! we got the salted foam coffee and the matcha einspänner and both were SO good. the salted foam coffee was creamy, a little sweet and salty, and just perfect. and the matcha einspanner was so smooth with that thick fluffy cream on top! It was so so good! the drinks came out fast too even though it was crowded, which I really appreciated, and everything felt very fairly priced. you can tell the coffee is authentic too since it’s all coming directly from Vietnam, which makes it feel even more special. honestly feels like the best authentic Vietnamese coffee spot in SD. also the cups are BIG like you’re actually getting your money’s worth. and the matcha came in this chubby cup that was literally the cutest thing ever… I’m 100% keeping it as a pen holder or something LOL. there’s a good amount parking and it is free, lots of seating, and the atmosphere is just really nice and chill. And the WiFi is free and amazing with outlets so you can work/study etc. AC was perfect too which mattered because it was warm outside. Overall just such a solid spot to hang out, study, or catch up with friends. 10/10 will be a regular here!!

Let’s be real, there’s no better way to start your morning than with a bold Vietnamese coffee made with beans straight from Vietnam. Or even a creamy matcha latte with matcha from Japan Meet the newly opened @phinologycoffee in Convoy San Diego. This husband and wife team has made their shop super warm and inviting and even imported a lot of their decorations directly from Vietnam. I personally love how their coffees are strong and bold yet sweet and creamy because of their house made cold foams. Right now they serve 16 items, including their popular banana foam coffee and matcha foam coffee. But if you’re if you’re more of a matcha latte fan they have that too! They get their ceremonial grade matcha from @parutea which is directly imported from Japan. It has a hint of earthiness, but also balanced out by their cold foams or fruit purées including mango and strawberry. Plus right now because it’s their soft opening all their drinks are 20% off. I also love how this plaza has a better parking than many places in Convoy .

This new Vietnamese coffee shop is such a great addition to the area! The space is clean, cozy, and has a really welcoming vibe—perfect for hanging out or getting some work done. The coffee is authentic and flavorful. I tried the Vietnamese iced coffee and it was strong, smooth, and perfectly sweetened—just how it should be. The staff were super friendly and made me feel right at home, even though it just opened. Service was quick and attentive. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to. Highly recommend if you love Vietnamese coffee or want to try something new!
