I want to share some feedback about a recent visit that left me pretty frustrated. I ordered a chicken shawarma bowl and had barely started eating — less than two minutes in — when a staff member came over and told me they needed to start closing up and cleaning, and asked me to take my bowl and eat outside. As a gesture for the “inconvenience,” she offered me six complimentary falafels, which honestly made no sense to me. I hadn’t ordered falafel, didn’t want it, and had no use for six pieces of it. All I wanted was to sit and finish the meal I’d just paid for. What made this more frustrating is that if the restaurant was closing or needed the space that urgently, that should have been communicated before I ordered and sat down — not two minutes after I started eating. Being asked to relocate outside mid-meal isn’t a reasonable substitute for just letting me finish where I was. I used to be a frequent customer here — I stay at the Hyatt next door for business travel and would eat here regularly during those trips. This experience has changed that. I won’t be returning.

Saturday, June 27 lunchtime. The worker didn’t even fill half the bowl for absolutely no reason. I paid $18 and still couldn’t get a properly filled bowl. Very disappointing and not worth the price. Pathetic service. This is unacceptable.

I’ve been to Sajj multiple times over the past 5 years. For the most part, it used to be good, aside from a few summer visits where the sauces would taste stale from the heat. However, my last 2 visits have been consistently disappointing. The servers now seem inexperienced and completely uncoordinated. On one visit, I ordered a falafel wrap and a chicken rice bowl. They left the wrap on the hot plate while toasting it and completely forgot to pack it, even though I was charged for both. I only realized it at home and had to go back to get it - by then it was soggy. My most recent visit was the last straw. My husband ordered the same falafel wrap and chicken bowl, and the service was chaotic. They suddenly switched servers mid-order with no communication, and the new server completely forgot to add any of the sauces I requested - hummus and tzatziki to my bowl. On top of all that, the portion sizes are far too small for the price (see picture). Paying $16.95 for a bowl that arrives barely satisfying is simply not justified.

Restaurant was nice and clean. Employees were kind and attentive. Food was fresh and delicious. Healthy selection and all the colorful veggies. Complimentary lentil soup was a nice addition to our bowl. The prices were reasonable.
