LOVED IT! π The architecture is beautiful. The Dr. Seuss themed children's area was absolutely adorable! The used bookstore was fabulous! I also enjoyed the view of the Coronado Bridge from the top floors! They even validate for 2 free hours of parking right under the library! Don't miss visiting this San Diego landmark! ππππ½ππ½ππ½

I happen upon a community presentation event that took place just outside the entrance. The staff were immediately engaging, welcoming me to the library and introducing me to all the floors and features inside. I ended up getting a study room that was private for the work I needed to get done. Toured the Makers Workshop area on the way out and was again greeted and encouraged to participate in all the offerings. Totally delightful experience!

Great time at the San Diego Central Library in East Village! 9 floors of books, audiobooks, DVDs, art exhibits, study rooms, computers, and even more. Although it is in a more sketchy part of town there is abundant security that made us feel safe the whole time. There is a nice childrenβs section with over 1,000 children books as well as toys and play computers. The view from the 9th floor is beautiful of the Coronado bridge and we really enjoyed the art exhibit. Nice gift shops as well. Recommend!

Give Kit a promotion! Beautiful interior, great courtyard area and pleasant vibe overall. A bit strict, as security will ask you not to sit in the floor, wake you up if your sleeping and you have to check to make sure your bags are not to big at the front. Sitting on the floor is culturally normal for many people across the world. Seemed strange to me to have to sit in a chair. Update: quick and easy experience getting the hotspot for 30 days! All respect and appreciation for Kevin at the front desk π

This is one of the best libraries in the entire country. And weβve visited a lot! In particular Jenny & Wendy in the childrenβs library were absolutely wonderful. They host, curate, and program for such a great, friendly space for kidsβwe so enjoyed our visit and are so grateful for their knowledge, passion, kindness, and expertise!
