Whoever created Selva Coffee House has an incredible eye for detail. This place feels more like an experience than a coffee shop. From the moment you walk in, you're surrounded by beautiful plants, great design, and an atmosphere that feels both relaxing and inspiring. Every drink looks thoughtfully crafted and tastes just as good as it looks. It's rare to find a place where the presentation, flavor, and overall vibe all come together so perfectly. You can tell a lot of creativity and care went into every detail. The staff is friendly, professional, and welcoming, and the atmosphere fits almost any mood—whether you're looking to unwind, catch up with friends, get some work done, or simply enjoy great coffee in a unique setting. One of the most memorable coffee shops I've visited in San Diego.

This place feels like a beautiful little jungle with its own cozy coffee shop. I stopped by while driving to the airport, and the location was super convenient and easily accessible from the highway. Parking is a little tight, but once you find a spot, the place is absolutely worth it. The atmosphere is relaxing, peaceful, and perfect for gathering with friends, working, or simply taking a break from a busy day. Even though I didn’t spend a lot of time there, I really enjoyed the overall vibe of the café. I tried the “Mothertrucker” coffee, and it was excellent. I especially loved the crushed pistachios on top, they added both great flavor and a nice texture to the drink, making it feel unique and memorable. I also ordered the banana muffin, which unfortunately wasn’t quite up to the mark compared to the coffee. Overall, the ambiance and coffee alone are enough to make me want to come back again. Definitely returning for the coffee and the beautiful atmosphere.

Selva, housed within Terra Bella Nursery’s Midway District location, is a cool—now very popular—coffee hangout. I came on a Sunday morning around 10:30am and it was completely packed with families, friend groups, and wanderers of all ages. The atmosphere and vibe are really nice. It’s inside a plant nursery, so there are hanging and standing plants literally everywhere, giving you the feeling that you’re in a greenhouse. There’s a lot of tables, a water station with iced lemon water, and multiple cashiers and baristas to help speed up the ordering and drink-completion processes. The matcha latte I ordered was pretty good, what I’d describe as slightly above average but nothing necessarily mind-bogging or life-altering. It was good matcha, with good milk/sweetness/graininess balance, but it was similar to what you’d find in most small coffee shops.

This coffee shop is an absolute gem! The ambiance is simply stunning, making it feel like sipping coffee in a serene garden. Unlike your typical coffee shop, they offer a unique and intriguing selection of coffee favors to try. I couldn’t resist their Mothertucker flavor, which was a delightful blend of pistachios. The roast itself was incredibly flavorful, and I must say, the barista was exceptional. The coffee was freshly brewed and perfectly suited to my taste preferences, leaving me thoroughly satisfied with every sip. I couldn’t resist trying their mouthwatering pastries either. I opted for the almond croissant, which was expertly toasted and bursting with almond flavor. Each bite was a delightful combination of sweet and savory, with a hint of moorish undertones. The nursery concept attached to the coffee shop was a great idea, adding a touch of charm to the overall experience. However, I must admit that the plants were a bit pricey in my opinion. Overall, I had a fantastic experience at this coffee shop. The ambiance, unique coffee favors, flavorful coffee, and delicious pastries made it a place I’ll definitely return to and explore more of their offerings.

I’m obsessed with selva. I won’t lie I thought it was going to be another IG photo pop with mid product but to my surprise, everything is so so SO GOOD. I’ve been three times in the last month not and every matcha I’ve got has been perfect; and the pastries are unique and drool worthy. It’s a comfortable work spot as well, so really a well rounded spot. Go to work, get a latte and leave with a new plant! Sounds like the perfect afternoon!!!
