While visiting I came across this beautiful modern restaurant located in the heart of downtown San Diego, in the Sophia Hotel. Decided to come here for my birthday dinner and it did not disappoint!! Friendly staff with mix of Turkish and American cuisine. Made a reservation but there were plenty of seats opened. Our waitress ( I didn’t get her name ) was lovely , she checked on us often and ensured we got everything we needed. Portion sizes were reasonable, and each meal was seasoned perfectly. They rewarded me with their banana pudding and ice cream as a treat which I greatly appreciate. This place is great for groups or a date night. Restaurant is chic and has a great open vibe. This is one of the best Turkish restaurants I’ve tried. I don’t have enjoy time due to my trip coming to an end or I would try their m brunch. Will definitely be back next time when I’m in town. Give them a try you will not be disappointed.

Some of the best food in San Diego, especially of you are looking for a healthy breakfast spot and brunch. Incredible atmosphere and natural light. My recommendations are the babaganoush (like no other roasted eggplant I’ve tried); the tuscan Crepe is to die for of you want something filling and comforting, and the veggie omelette or the overnight oats are simple exceptional… house is made in house… so it’s the lox… a foodie’s paradise.

We had a fantastic time dining at Truva, easily one of the best Mediterranean spots in San Diego! The food and service here is stellar: consistently good (we’ve been a few times now) and you can get some truly out-of-this-world dishes you just can’t get anywhere else. We started off with the Mezze platter which was thoughtfully assorted - this is a meal all on its own. To drink I would highly recommend the Sangria, one of the best we’ve had here. The shrimp and beef skewers were very hefty and juicy, cooked to perfection. Do not skip dessert here: the Knafeh with the goat milk ice cream was so tasty and especially unique! Mel, the owner is super friendly and really made us feel at home here. We’ve been back for brunch and it was incredible as well. One of the best spots downtown hands down!

Came for brunch, absolutely loved the shakshuka and steak and eggs. Steak was juicy and tender, shakshuka was very authentic, light and fresh. Great stop for healthy Mediterranean food! Both dishes came with a crispy potato pancake that I much preferred to classic roasted diced potatoes. Interior is quite lovely. I tried a beef fermented sausage for the first time called sujuk and it was so delicious and addicting!! Perfect addition to the shakshuka.

My favorite new restaurant in downtown! The kabobs were perfectly seasoned, tender and packed with authentic flavor. The steak and fries with creamy garlic yogurt and tomato sauce were so delicious. We also loved the crispy phyllo cheese rolls. The highlight was the knafeh with Turkish ice cream. The combination of warm, crispy pastry, melted cheese, sweet syrup, and the uniquely creamy ice cream made for an unforgettable dessert experience. Great food, warm hospitality, and a beautiful atmosphere. Highly recommend for both brunch and dinner!
