Los Angeles is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Los Angeles is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Not a travellers' hostal but a long term stay. There's no staff on site except for the sweet cleaning ladies. It didn't give me a feeling of safety as a solo female traveller. If you go, book the female only dorm. That was okay. Be prepared for the smell of marijuana constantly. The building itself is very nice and clean. Without the very few people I befriended, it would have been a horrible week.

AC and heater provide . Cozy and super clean . The housekeeper well done her job. I know some guest messed themselves but that nothing I could do. However the overall common area is clean and nice. I love it. Price is reasonable. The only thing bothering me is close to the main street and loud sometimes but the rest is fine.

Lovely hostel π It's great for someone used to hostels. Honestly, even if you're not used to hostels, this wouldn't be a bad one to start at. The property seemed to be kept well cleaned, and I didn't have any issues with any of the people staying there. Check in was easy - and if for some reason you don't get the check-in details or accidentally delete them, the host is quick to answer calls and get you the info quickly. I booked this hostel because it's located near what I needed to be in LA for. There are food shops not too far away - less than a 10 minute walk. Very close to bus stops. I did see that it was $10 extra a day for parking cars so if you're driving, thats something to keep in mind. There were two public restrooms with showers open to everyone in the building. My room (room 4) didn't have a bathroom (apparently some do), but I was able to use the downstairs bathroom (through the kitchen) when I needed it. Ah, towels - towels are $2 to rent, so keep that in mind as well. I just used extra clothes to dry, haha. The bed and pillow were comfy enough for me (a 225+lb guy) to get solid sleep (my ring says so π€ͺ) Keep in mind if you're in room 4 bed 5 (or any of the other

Very good location near tourist spots for a good price. Hostel was clean, free parking was available on the street (just pay attention to the signs and rules) or for $10 per night right in front of the hostel. The kitchen was equipped, we even had a refrigerator in the room. The only thing that "bothered" us was just one bathroom on the floor, which took a long time to get in.
