I have been here 2 times. The staff is super friendly and the space is great and really comfy. The second time we visited during comic con and it did not take super long to get our food. These are the things that I tried: 1. Lavender Matcha: I think my by far my favorite of all time. When I have tried at other places I just haven’t really found the “lavender” flavor. But I really enjoyed this one. 2. Lemonade traditional and matcha: both very good, I personally prefer the matcha one as it is not as sweet as a the traditional. 3. Strawberry Parfait: the ice cream was really good. Th bottom part tasted like cereal with strawberry jam. It was too sweet for me, I am more of a savory and spicy flavors kind of person. However, I look forward to trying the matcha parfait 4. Sandos: I tried the Chicken katsu sando and the spicy chicken sando. The spicy is good (not spicy for my Mexican standards, but I already knew what I was getting). Nevertheless, great combination of the spicy with the pickles. 5. The pudding: It was good but I do not think that it was special in any way. It is pudding, I do want to try their mango one tho.

This was my second visit here, and I have to say I left with mixed feelings. Both times I came on a weekend, so I was fully expecting crowds and a bit of a wait. My first visit was definitely a better experience than my second.This time, there was a huge line outside, and I ended up waiting over 25 minutes. What was frustrating, though, was that the line was only to place an order. There were plenty of empty tables inside, so it seemed like the bottleneck was the ordering process rather than a lack of seating. I completely understand waiting if the café is full, but seeing so many open tables while everyone stood in line to order made the process feel pretty inefficient. They also got my order wrong. I ordered a hot latte but was given a different iced drink instead, and I later realized I had actually been charged more because the iced drink cost more than the latte I ordered. Mistakes happen, but I hope they can improve the ordering process and double-check orders before they’re handed out. That said, the pastries were excellent. We came in for brunch and were pleasantly surprised by Jazz’s friendly demeanor. She noticed our menu connection issues and came out to provide physical menus. She also gave us some recommendations. We tried a few of the matcha drinks, matcha croissant, and curry-filled pastries. We also sampled several savory dishes.

Be prepared to wait in a long line on a weekend or holiday. It actually wasn’t the length of the line though that held us up. There was only one person helping people with their order. They had a couple people making drinks and one manning the register but a couple people taking orders would’ve made a huge difference. At 11am they were already out of matcha croissants. My friend and I ordered several breads and while they were good, I found them to be dry - cinnamon roll, melon pan, matcha donut. We ordered matcha drinks…pretty good but I wished the matcha flavor was stronger. My friend loved the egg sandwich she ordered. We didn’t order savory plates but the servings looked huge based on seeing other people‘s tables.

03/14/2026 First time visiting! I really enjoyed the Curry Pan($5.95)—tasty on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Also loved the flaky, buttery croissant (don’t remember the price)! Great place to hang out. I’ll definitely be back to try more of those yummy-looking pastries! Service: 3/5 To get the line moving, the cashier needs to pick up the pace! :)

The matcha here is way better than other spots in San Diego. It’s richer, more dense, and has a really strong matcha aroma. The croissant has a great texture with a nice buttery smell, and the matcha filling isn’t too sweet, which I loved. The earl grey melon pan is light and fluffy with a really nice tea fragrance. Honestly, no complaints about the food at all. There’s usually a line, but it moves pretty fast, so it’s not a big deal. The only small issue was that we didn’t order anything with chocolate, but our dish had a pretty big chocolate mark on it.

We always come here early and punch ourselves because we keep forgetting the Sandos are only available after 11a. But anyway this time we ordered a ton of savory pastry that are all well made and great quality. (See pics) For drinks I got their regular iced matcha latte with honey and my partner got coffee. Both were delicious and well made. For the Pastries, I think my fave was the soft bun with ground meat curry inside - so YUMMY. My partners fave is the hotdog (pigs in a blanket type dish) I also really love the ham with cheese pastry. We will be back to try the sandos. Edit: came back for the Sandos. I got the shrimp katsu sando and honestly, it's so fire!!!! My friends got the chicken one and it was delicious as well.

This is a really nice Japanese bakery located right in downtown, and it’s clearly very popular. The bakery offers authentic Japanese baked goods, and everything we tried was impressive. The cutlet sandwich was especially good—the fluffy, soft bread paired perfectly with the crispy cutlet and savory sauce. It was simple but incredibly satisfying. The French toast was rich and soft, and the curry bun was flavorful with just the right amount of filling. Overall, it’s a great spot if you’re looking for high-quality, authentic Japanese bakery items, but be prepared for a crowd due to its popularity.
