For a place to eat or drink, the questions that matter most are simple: is it open now, how long is the wait at peak hours, and does the menu suit the group you are bringing. American restaurants typically run lunch and dinner services with a quieter stretch in between, coffee shops open early, and many kitchens close earlier on Sunday. Cards and tap-to-pay are accepted almost everywhere, a tip of 15-20% is customary for table service, and sales tax is added at the register.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. Typical hours are 10 am–9 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Extraordinary Desserts at (619) 294-2132; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is extraordinarydesserts.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.5 out of 5 from 3,124 reviews, which is a strong result for a bakery in San Diego and suggests consistent service.
San Diego is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and San Diego follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Dulce deleche cake was a perfect way to end the first day of Comic Con International Day one. We also tried a hisbiscus tea with jelly beans, the carafe was more than enough for three people to share. The cashier recommended it and stated that the jelly beans was a subtle flavor, she was right. It was very refreshing.

cakes had good flavor profiles, not too sweet and the tart raspberry flavor was very good. each slice was around 12-15, so on the pricier side.

Our party of three visited in April 2026 for the "Sip & Yap Social." For a flat per-person fee, we enjoyed a generous spread of charcuterie, desserts, and beverage choice (wine or tea)—available weekdays from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Food: The charcuterie board was expertly curated, featuring cheese (IIRC: brie, manchego, asiago, and pimento) and meats (two types of salami), complemented by crackers, toasted bread, and an array of spreads (pesto, pepper, and mustard). Accents like candied walnuts, cornichons, and fresh berries rounded out the savory portion. The experience included a trio of desserts: a bright passion fruit tart, a raspberry torte, and a rich chocolate brownie/cake. While the set includes wine, we opted for their tea selection instead. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and perfectly balanced—nothing was too salty or too sweet. Service & Atmosphere: The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and accommodating. The atmosphere is ideal for conversation, with chill lounge music in the background and moderate noise level.

Update: Once more, the desserts proved to be absolute triumph. The ricotta berry cake was unforgettable, followed by a la bête noire that redefined pure indulgence. To close, the passion fruit pastry offered a brilliantly sharp, refreshing counterpoint. A masterclass in pastry from start to finish. ********************************* Extraordinary Desserts remains a masterclass in edible architecture. With their downtown presence now firmly established, each shop has evolved from a local secret into an essential urban ritual. My latest encounter centered on the Blood Orange and Passion Fruit Ricotta cakes. Both were exquisite—each a delicate tension of citrus sharp enough to bite, tempered by the creamy, understated sweetness of the ricotta. Even after countless visits, their ability to marry such elegance with visceral flavor feels like a discovery every time. Must I even state the obvious? I am already planning my return.
