If I could give more stars I would this place was so good. Drove from Riverside to San Diego on a Sunday morning just to try their bread, pastries and coffee. Took so much home for the family. Everything we tried was so delicious 😋 if you have a sweet tooth must try the s’mores croissant and have it there they torch the homemade marshmallow in front of you 😋😻. Savory the carnitas croissant 🥐 and we bought the garlic bread, olive whole grain and cranberry pecan all amazing. Must try iced latte coconut. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality the staff is great.

Went around noon and most of the croissants were already sold out. Noticed people picking up preordered goods, so that seems like the way to go. We ordered 3 croissants and they were gorgeous to look at and tasted pretty good. As expected, they had a crispy, flaky, crunchy outer shell and soft and tender with multiple layers inside. Presentation is very nice and pleasing. Price ranged from $10 to $17 per croissant. We ordered 3 and it came out to $44. The carnitas croissant was a bit of a disappointment due to the sparse amount of protein inside. It was a nice snack and not by any means a meal. To me it was overpriced for what it was. Nice to try once I guess to see what the fuss is all about. Tables were rather small and cramped. Overall feel of the place was nice and airy. We parked near the I5 overpass and it was a bit shady and smelly, a couple of homeless people camped out there.

Izola Bakery delivers some of the best croissants I’ve ever had again i have never been to france but the atandard for san diego this is it . Every pastry feels thoughtfully made, with that perfect balance of crisp, flaky layers on the outside and rich, buttery softness inside. The butter croissant sets the standard—deeply golden, shatteringly crisp, and incredibly fragrant. It’s simple but executed flawlessly. The chocolate croissant is just as impressive, with high-quality chocolate that melts into the layers without overpowering them. The almond croissant stands out for its richness, packed with a nutty, slightly sweet filling that complements the pastry rather than weighing it down. The mango lao is a unique highlight, bringing a bright, tropical flavor that adds something different to the lineup. It’s refreshing and well-balanced, not overly sweet. Overall, Izola Bakery easily ranks at the top when it comes to croissants. Every bite shows how much work iwent in, and it’s the kind of place you keep coming back to once you’ve tried it.

There is absolutely a reason IZOLA was named the best bakery in America and it’s because the croissants 🥐 and sourdough do all the talking. I have had my fair share of croissants and I don’t know if I ever have had such a unique and divine experience as eating that bibimbap croissant. The house made sauce they decorate with is exquisite and I wish I could buy a jar and take it home with me. Truly an incredible experience with friendly staff, phenomenal food and immaculate vibes. Loved the sourdough sampler and a must if you want to try their new creations. You can overdose on carbs at this establishment and you should cause why not go out happy.

If you’re searching for one of the best croissants in San Diego, a visit to Izola is absolutely worth it. Located in the East Village, Izola has built a reputation for creating exceptional artisan pastries, and after experiencing it firsthand, the praise is well deserved. The moment you walk in, the aroma of fresh-baked bread and buttery croissants fills the space and sets the tone for a yummy experience. The croissants are perfectly golden and flaky on the outside, they reveal dozens of delicate layers and a rich, buttery interior. Every bite delivers a satisfying crunch followed by a melt-in-your-mouth texture that showcases the skill and attention to detail behind each pastry. Their commitment to baking throughout the day means customers often enjoy pastries that are still warm from the oven. Beyond the food, the staff is welcoming and passionate about their craft, creating an atmosphere that feels both inviting and genuine. Whether you’re a longtime pastry enthusiast or simply looking for a special breakfast treat, Izola delivers an experience that lives up to its reputation. It’s easy to see why many locals consider it a destination bakery and one of San Diego’s finest. Side
