We came hear on April 28th around 9:30 a.m. this place caught my eye because it talked about having empanadas and I will tell you right now those are the first things that sell out. The place opens pretty early and again it is around a lot of state buildings and I'm guessing lots of folks go here to get a quick breakfast and a delicious coffee. I was not mad though we saw that they had these croissant bagels sandwiches and it has a funny name that is perfect for it I can't remember it but oh my gosh it was the perfect amount of crunch but softness inside and then it soaked up all of the delicious goodness from the eggs and the bacon oh my gosh I was just so excited to eat that. We got one of their seasonal lattes each of us tried something different and again I cannot remember the names I will be honest this was on the 28th of April so the names are escaping me and I didn't take a picture of the menu which boo on me. But again the espresso was fresh you could taste the coffee from it, and the syrup that it had in it were just right. Overall this place is just so Sacramento it felt warm and inviting and it's definitely a place to check out that is it sounds funny off the beaten pat

I am so glad my original plan fell through and I stumbled into this place!! Churro coffee was great and this cinnamon roll pastries was delicious! It’s a small place but the atmosphere felt very welcoming.

Needing to catch up with a fellow friend/colleague, I suggested that we take a stroll to Barrio Downtown to grab a cup of Jane. Being that it was my first visit, initially I didn’t realize that this cozy establishment is a coffee shop (I have worked in the downtown area for over 10 years). Upon entering we were warmly greeted by an enthusiastic barista ready to take our orders. Since it was my first visit, I inquired about the barista’s personal favorite drinks. She suggested the Signature Churro and the Pumpkin Churro. Since it is officially the Fall season, I opted to try the Pumpkin Churro that was on the Fall menu. After taking one sip of my Pumpkin Churro, I realized that I made the right choice. It very much so tasted like a churro (which I love on occasion) with a slight hint of pumpkin flavor. Although I’m not in the downtown area often, I look forward to making a return visit to try the regular Churro Latte and one of their pastries (as recommended by my wife). Thank you Barrio Downtown!

Quick little corner stop w fast service if you're in a hurry. Delicious empanadas for $5 each. The dough is so soft!! Try the chicken tinga or the carnitas if you like a lot of meat. Chorizo egg is also good for breakfast. Ask for the habanero salsa, which is a little sweet and has a kick. Super friendly staff and I liked the music this morning. The coffees are served on the large side. I prefer small coffee drinks like a traditional macchiato. If you like lattes and milky coffee you are going to be in love! Try the cortado or the Vietnamese nitro (which is served iced). I'll be back for more empanadas.

So happy this place is back open! Fantastic customer service, homemade empanadas and really good coffee. I’m a coffee snob and drink black Americanos - Barrio’s espresso is delicious and smooth! Love the Vietnamese Nitro and Churro Latte as well!
