Visited it with the purpose of swimming, but who would swim there with such a beautiful ocean next door? The water seemed very cold and nothing like the ocean, while the current felt surprisingly strong. The restrooms are filthy and after seeing who frequents them, I definitely won't come back.

Shallow and safe waters + fun playground. Plenty of parking. Not very crowded on a summer weekday in the afternoon

Good experience! The cove gets packed on weekends (starting around 1pm) people get pushy about parking. Had someone ask me to just move out of my spot and wait over in the red to pack up my things from the beach (um no, shouldn't be blocking the red curb, blocks the flow of traffic here). The entitlement to my parking spot was wild. We spent a whole day at the beach and had a good time! Overall great. Some homeless people were camping out there but very nice and out of the way. Some questionable "business" activities on the beach ⛱️. Would go to another beach to spend the day though. Not the BEST cove but not a bad time at all!

We visit Bonita Cove a minimum of 5 out of 7 days... We prefer to go close to the older bathrooms because there are less people and it seems almost private at times.... Early in the morning their is a pair of sea lions that you normally see that stay in the bay playing and making all kinds of ruckus...when "season" is in tourist literally kept the bathrooms around here destroyed but now that it's slowed back down they stay clean telling us that the homeless aren't the problem. It's the Bay so the water is warmer and calmer than across the road at the beach.

Nice Park for children with lifeguards. Picnic or barbecue bring your own food and enjoy the view. Cleaned daily with free parking. Fire pits, grills, showers, all one block from Pacific Ocean. Swimming clubs meet daily.
