This is probably one of the best places for Mexican food in the San Francisco Mission District cooked by a chef that has nailed authentic Mexican flavors from his family. I had a Quesabirria Taco and their brand new Surf and Turf Burrito that was absolutely phenomenal. It probably the best Surf and Turf Burrito in San Francisco and honestly I think anything you order will be amazing! 😁

The service here is above and beyond. Jose and staff are super welcoming and friendly. The food is authentic and very flavorful. I highly recommended this restaurant when you are in Mission.

What a great little place Cocina Mamá Cholita is! And.. the parking is a dream come true, I parked within a half block, and I was pulling a horse trailer! The food was amazingly authentic and crafted by a person that's been cooking family dinners all their life, it was perfect. This little gem is highly recommended. 5 ☆☆☆☆☆'s!

Great experience from start to finish! The service was excellent. They offered us sample sauces and meats before ordering and helped us choose dishes to share between three people. We had the mole enchiladas, enchiladas divorciadas, and birria tacos. I’d definitely order all three again. Ice cream and churros for dessert. Great meal and great service. I’ll definitely be back!

This spot was #1 on my list of must try food in SanFran after seeing it hyped up on Instagram. Upon entering the guy working the counter offered me a complimentary sampling plate. Getting to try the meats & sauces before ordering, amazing hospitality. I ordered the verde birria enchildas + chips & salsa. Being Latina & originally from Texas, I’m a tough critic when it comes to Mexican food. This was honestly the best Mexican food I’ve ever had.. birria was tender, chips warm and house made, everything was so cheesy, salsas and verde were fresh and flavorful, I regret not asking to take containers of them to go. I’ll be dreaming of this plate until I can make another visit to SanFran.. (I would fly back for this meal alone) Hype on this place: valid. 10/10
