I visit here regularly as a guest and volunteer. The staff is always great. Some exhibits change several times a year and I enjoy the small theatre and gift shop. Look out for some sponsored fun evening events.

We went on a Sunday, 45 mins to closing. The major display right now is a Doctor Who exhibit that takes up the entire 1st floor. Good thing we like that show; we enjoyed it fine even though we rushed through it. 2nd floor featured some original art by Charles Addams, creator of "The Addams Family" and a small corner showcasing a local artist's work. The 2nd floor also has some rooms that I think are meant for classes, but they were closed and dark when we went. Felt very empty. The lower level had some San Diego Comic Con brochures and posters from years and decades past on the wall, a room dedicated to a popular comic based in San Diego "Luann", some admittedly very impressive cosplay costumes, a theater running Doctor Who episodes, and that's it. The museum feels oddly laid out; lots of little corridors but not much actually in it. It kind of had the vibe that it was in a transitional/refurbishment phase but there was no signage really saying so. Gift shop has a bunch of little toys and comics for sale. The whole thing felt very lackluster with no cohesion. Like I said, it's a good thing we actually like Doctor Who, but if we didn't, we would have felt incredibly ripped off. W

I am a huge fan of Doctor Who which is why I paid the $20 student fee to enter this museum. The exhibits are so cool. Every doctor consume that you see here was used in some way on screen. It was super fun to walk through and see all the characters from my childhood show come to life. It was very nostalgic in a good way. The Face of Boe, the weeping angels, the Daleks and the Cybermen were some of the things that stood out to me the most. Definitely do the scavenger hunt! You can win a poster or a lanyard if you complete it! They were also showcasing comic strips and luche libre on the bottom and top floors. If you ever watched Doctor Who as a kid and loved it, I highly recommend visiting before this exhibit is gone. It really was a cool and nostalgic experience. Took us about 1.5-2 hours to get through the entire museum!

My husband and I went on Sunday early afternoon and it wasn’t busy. It was our first time visiting during the “Big Exchange”. This museum has interesting displays and excellent for kids.

Loved the Doctor Who exhibit. I can understand people saying 30 bucks is steep, but I think that depends on if the main exhibits are of interest. If you like the topics they have on display it's well worth it. I'd check ahead of time to see what's out
