When you enter, it’s the bar area and you have to order your food before you get seated. We didn’t love this as if you’re not there to drink or don’t drink, it’s kind of a miss of a process. The night we were there the bar area (where you wait) was loud. We got seated outside which was a very cute area and ordered. The bread basket was really good, Mac and cheese lacked a little flavor, and overall, was good but didn’t feel worth the price. It was a nice steakhouse to try but it wasn’t something we’d go back to.

Wow, what an amazing place! The moment we walked in, we felt that classic American vibe. ​The concept here is brilliant: you order your food right at the entrance, and while it's being prepared, you grab a cold draft beer (they have a great, diverse selection on tap) and just hang out and enjoy the atmosphere. Once your food is ready, they call you inside and seat you at your table—it saves so much time and makes the whole experience incredibly smooth and fun. ​As for the food—we ordered the ribs and chicken combo. It was absolutely excellent! The meat was perfectly cooked, packed with flavor, and the portion size was massive. It came with hot, delicious garlic bread and a great salsa on the side that complemented everything perfectly. ​Great service, awesome atmosphere, and top-tier food. Highly recommended, we will definitely be back! 🍖🍺

Great tri-tip sandwich and amazing service! The meat was tender and flavorful, and everything tasted fresh. The host and servers were all so friendly and welcoming. Definitely coming back to San Jose for this!

Henry’s World Famous Hi-Life Restaurant is in Little Italy and feels very local. I lived in downtown San Jose for a year but never tried it, only came here after we moved, and honestly, I regret not going sooner. This might be my favorite area, and the restaurant really lives up to its reputation as a historic spot in SJ. You can feel the history when you’re here. It’s also just two blocks from SAP Center, very convenient if you watch concerts here. The food was great. We ordered the New York and ribeye steaks, and both were cooked perfectly to our liking and still juicy inside. They come with salad, baked potatoes, and garlic butter. There are two sauces, BBQ and a creamy sauce (Idk what it was but I didn’t like it either) Honestly, I was even more impressed with the garlic butter bread than the steak, it’s the best I’ve ever had. The baked potatoes were also great, and we ordered extra mushrooms to go with the steak (gotta have some veggies) The menu is a mix of steak and classic BBQ dishes, but the steak is what they’re known for, so that’s what we went with. Henry’s high Life is a San Jose historical staple of the community! They have some great barbecue,steaks, and prime rib. Pretty much you’re not going to leave here hungry and likely with a little leftovers. The prime rib is super tasty, especially the saltiness around the edges, and very moist. Love it. But my favorite of all time here are the baby back ribs. They are cooked to perfection with a perfectly textured outer cage, and falling off the bone meat. March that with their sauces and you’re in heaven! And while not a headliner, their garlic bread is delicious as well. Soaked in garlic and butter and goes so well with your meat! Have a drink at the bar, watch the games on the TVs, and just relax. They have a unique ordering style. You arrive you get a number and you order your food. Then you wait in the bar. Then after some time they’ll seat you. You get a salad and the garlic bread. Then just a few minutes later, your meat comes out. Super friendly staff.
