For a place to eat or drink, the questions that matter most are simple: is it open now, how long is the wait at peak hours, and does the menu suit the group you are bringing. American restaurants typically run lunch and dinner services with a quieter stretch in between, coffee shops open early, and many kitchens close earlier on Sunday. Cards and tap-to-pay are accepted almost everywhere, a tip of 15-20% is customary for table service, and sales tax is added at the register.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 5β9 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (408) 251-8909. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is grandviewsanjose.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.3 out of 5 from 1,813 reviews, which is a strong result for a steakhouse in San Jose and suggests consistent service.
San Jose is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Traffic in San Jose peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

If you want a good food and good city view? This place is highly suggested. Food is good. We tried this Baked Oyster, it was so good! I never eat oyster but this one I will surely want to go back to eat it again. Tomahawk, itβs a 48oz for $300- honest comment it was good. Weβve tried several Steakhouse and multiple restaurant. I can say it is okay. 8/10 rate but I still give full 5 starts because everything experience was good. Service? It was fantastic. Rondelle was our server. Sheβs attentive, very informative and professional. As mentioned, I will give her 5 βοΈ Location, it was extraordinary but please be mindful that going here has Stiff Road especially going Up to the Grand View. Make sure you or anyone does not have ACROPHOBIA because going here? some side has no barricade on the right side going up.

Outstanding place. The view over the valley is the primary draw, but the service, the menu, and the execution of the meal make it a complete experience. I highly recommend the steak and their wine selection. If you see the Napa Dolce by Far Niente 2013 on the dessert menu, donβt hesitate. just order it. It is unlike anything you have ever tried. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a detached moment above the city.

A stunning view cannot compensate for a deeply disappointing dining experience. The setting is undeniably beautiful, but unfortunately that is where the value ends. The food, service, and overall execution were nowhere near the standard this restaurant seems to believe it offers. We ordered the lobster pasta special for $95 and it was astonishingly underwhelming β bland, poorly seasoned, and lacking any refinement or care. At that price, one expects a dish that feels thoughtfully prepared. Instead, it felt ordinary at best and careless at worst. Our server also recommended the scallops, yet failed to disclose that the dish contained bacon, which is not a minor oversight when suggesting menu items to guests. I do not eat pork, and that should have been communicated without question. Even setting that aside, the dish itself was deeply disappointing: the scallops were overly salty, rubbery, and wholly unjustifiable at $75. Because the restaurant so confidently promotes its farm-to-table approach, we added the carrots as a side, expecting something fresh and well executed. What arrived were vold, hard carrots that felt more like a neglected garnish than something worthy of being se

We have gone here for Valentines Day this year and last year. The first time, we sat inside and unfortunately could not enjoy the view because of heavy rain. This time, we sat outside just before sunset and the view was fantastic. It was a little chilly but the outdoor heaters kept us cozy. While we haven't eaten from the everyday menu yet, the Valentine's Day menu was delicious both times. The farm-to-table food quality was delightful, the mocktails are wonderful and the wine selection is extensive. On our most recent visit, we enjoyed lobster bisque, ravioli, scallops, salmon, steak, key lime cheesecake and a very rich lava cake. Everything was scrumptious but the scallops and salmon were particularly memorable. We also thoroughly enjoyed the fresh baked foccacia break so much thsy we asked for a second plate. The service is attentive and high end. Our only negative feedback is that they had an on-site photographer who took a few photos of us standing in front of the sunset but she never came back to offer us the chance to purchase the photos. We saw her circle back to the other tables with framed prints but somehow she forgot about us. Unfortunately we didn't realize this un

My boyfriend took me here to celebrate Valentine's Day and it was a fixed menu with $175 per person. It's my first time having fine dining and my boyfriend doesn't usually eat at such luxury restaurants, so we were quite excited. Well, we did have a great time there because we had a good quality time and the conversation was meaningful. But it turned out the food was just okay (I mean it's good but for this price.... It can be better for sure) and the waiter seemed rather new(? It's like he just started working and didn't have much experience in interacting with people. We liked the bread and olive oil sauce the most and my boyfriend said the one carrot on the side was surprisingly sweet (in a good way, like a sweet potato. Yup, that one carrot was the highlight of our meal π₯ (Ravioli was okay, soup was fine, scallop itself was good but there was only one, lava cake was a no (too rich and bitter) and cheesecake was a no (too sweet), steak was okay and salmon was fine. Carrot and mashed potato were pretty good, I also liked the roasted tomato with veggies on top on the side, quite refreshing) Btw, about the grand view... it was chilly and cold outside so they put out a lot of heate
