Interesting little park in a very hilly area with great views of the financial district, part of Chinatown and North Beach. This park is on the side of a steep hill.

As a beautiful place and green space, I give it a nice 5-star review. However there are a lot of stairs with a high elevation gain/descent. I can’t imagine anybody with any kind of walking handicap being able to enjoy this greenspace. It’s pretty but taxing in your body. Please be comfortable climbing 130 steps. 👍🏼

Amazing views and it’s such a cool park. It is lowkey in some people’s front/backyard so be mindful of noise. Also if it’s a warm day, there will be mosquitoes…I was there at around 5pm in 65 degree weather and I was getting bitten. But besides that I love this park!

This park is one of my favorites in the city 💚 It’s a steep hike up, but you’re rewarded with incredible views of the bay, the Bay Bridge, the Transamerica Pyramid, Salesforce Tower, Coit Tower, and Chinatown 🌉🏙️. The nature in this little park is so beautiful: trumpet trees, lots of hummingbirds 🐦, colorful flowers 🌸, and little benches where you can sit and just take in the city views. On the other side of the park, you can see Alcatraz and the bay! Yes, the climb is steep, but it is so, so worth it. And if you want to keep going, you can cross the street (just be careful, there’s no real crosswalk and cars come up fast). Keep climbing for even more views all the way to the top of Russian Hill. Or walk down one block and walk the Macondray lane (another favorite!). One of those places that really reminds you how special this city is ✨❤️

Ina Coolbrith Park is a forgotten hidden jewel of The City attached with a touching story of legendary American pioneers🫡 and it also has awesome views from Coit Tower, Alcatraz to the Bay Bridge and landmark downtown skyscrapers. The park is situated on 1715 Taylor Street what was once a steep and impassable section of Vallejo Street running downhill towards Chinatown in Russian Hill neighborhood.[*A few houses north from Coolbrith’s original home located at 1604 Taylor street that was destroyed in the 1906 earthquake and fire. It is said that although Coolbrith who is also a “cat lady” 😉escaped alive with her two white Persian cats and a female companion her personal library of over 3000 volumes of valuable books, correspondence, and her nearly finished manuscript on the history of early California literature were lost.😔] The park is named after Ina Donna Coolbrith (1841-1928)(born Josephine Donna Smith, who was the niece of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints founder Joseph Smith🫡to my friends “Elder Murray” et al. from Utah whom I befriended at Chinatown church on Washington Street), a prominent San Francisco poet who became California's first Poet Laureate in 1915
