San Diego is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and San Diego follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Nice campground, we will go back again, we had something at SDSU and this was only fifteen minutes away so it was perfect. I think they lock the gate at 8, but you just had to unclip it if you arrive after. Nice bathroom with lights and free showers!

The road twists a lot so all camp sites feel secluded. Beautiful lake with lots trees and hawks. Bathrooms have showers with good water pressure.

My rating is unrelated to the campground itself, but instead the disturbances throughout my stay. 1) Small, private planes doing circles overhead, nonstop until around 9:00PM. The noise and vibration that those small planes emit is such an irritant; exactly what you don’t want when visiting a campground to relax and be free from superficial environmental noise. 2) Construction noise right outside the campground until around 5-5:30PM. Coupled with the planes’ figure-eights all day, I couldn’t enjoy the otherwise peaceful space, let alone hear myself think. The campground, birds all around, and overall natural setting was nice as mentioned, w/attentive Rangers and a camp host on site, but I will never stay here again due to the noise pollution.

Destruction er, construction on Kumeyaay lake access limits parking and ruins the atmosphere around dam. It's normally a beautiful, peaceful spot for picnics so wait for construction to finish.
