A true hidden gem in Carmel Valley! It was like coming home to your Nona’s for a home-cooked meal. I was immediately welcomed by a warm staff who brought food and water for our therapy dog. They were incredibly thoughtful and kind. The meals came immediately after….hot off the stove, incredibly aromatic and tasted divine. The pizza was amazing, the rigatoni with spicy vodka sauce, the gnocchi and the calzone were to die for and the tiramisu was divine. One of the best Italian restaurants in San Diego. It was an incredible experience! Will definitely be going back!

What a hidden gem! Stumbled upon this place and was pleasantly surprised by the food, service, and ambiance considering it's so tucked away. Ralph was our waiter and was very friendly and attentive and made recommendations based on my party's interest. The owner checked on our table a couple times as well and made sure we were enjoying our food and having a great time. Tonight we had the meat pizza and garlic bread, which were both outstanding. Will be sure to try the spicy pasta during our next visit. FYI, pizza by the slice is only available during lunch (10-3PM).

Their pizza was probably the BEST pizza I’ve ever had…it was perfect. No complaints on the pizza at all! Our entire family (young kids as well) loved it. The environment is awesome, great place to dine, with great classic Italian decorations. The service was good because they were kind, but could have used some better explanation on price of drinks and lemonade. I’m not a fan of places that don’t have refillable fountain sodas either, but a lot of Californian restaurants screw you over with drinks and prices. Overall though, this place deserves five stars for their pizza!!

The calamari batter wasn’t heavily seasoned so it tasted fresh and light. The Sicilian pizza had a crispy crust while staying soft inside. Unfortunately, the waiter forgot to put in my chicken parm order, even after double-checking the sauce choice with me. It was a slow early afternoon when the restaurant is not busy. When I brought it up, there was no apology or explanation. I hope it gets better because the food and overall vibe were otherwise good.

Mom’s Pizza and Pasta truly feels like a slice of home. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm, cozy, and inviting, making it the kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable. The service is absolutely incredible — attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. Rob and Raya have clearly put so much love, passion, and effort into creating a space that feels soft, relaxed, and homely. It honestly feels like you’re sitting down to enjoy a meal made with care, just like Mom’s cooking. Every detail, from the ambiance to the way you’re looked after, makes you want to stay a little longer. The food itself is outstanding — fresh, comforting, and full of flavour. My absolute favourite was the Zak Attack, which was hands down amazing and a must-try. You can really taste the quality and thought that goes into every dish. This place is something special. If you’re looking for incredible food, a welcoming atmosphere, and a restaurant that truly feels like home, Mom’s Pizza and Pasta is it. I absolutely love this place and will definitely be coming back.
