Absolutely the best find on our week long journey to San Diego Comic Con. We randomly found the place after the Con and the manager let us in when they only had 5 minutes to close. Typically we would never do this but she saw that we were tired AND hungry, and she ushered us in. The food and the service were PHENOMENAL. The staff were friendly, not annoyed at our late seating, and informative of the wine and food. We had a great time. So much so that we went BACK later that weekend to enjoy their restaurant. if you're in the area, PLEASE check this place out. The manager is an absolutely GORGEOUS young lady and the staff knows all the ins-and-outs of the menu to help you decide your choice. Its a shame I don't live in San Diego anymore...

Osteria Panevino is a wonderful choice for an authentic Italian meal in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter. The menu features homemade pastas, fresh seafood, risotto, veal, steaks, traditional Italian entrées, and an excellent wine selection, with specials inspired by regional Italian cuisine. The food was superb and easily the highlight of our visit. Service was good, though not quite as memorable as the cuisine itself. The décor is warm and inviting, with classic Italian touches in an atmosphere that feels elegant without being overly formal. I would definitely return.

This is hands down the best Italian restaurant I’ve been to in San Diego. The gnocchi melts in your mouth and the short rib ravioli is to die for. Gioia was an amazing server and super accommodating!

This is a classic Italian dining room. Busy, bustling, with an authentic vibe and good energy. Food was very tasty. Service was professional. I loved the ambience. Aromas of sautéed Garlic and roasted tomatoes filled the room. I'd go back.

My wife and I went in here for date night. BEST Italian food we've had outside of Italy in a long time. The server recommend the Gnocchi and the Penne with Wild Boar Sausage, so so good! Gioia was our server and she was so great! If you guys are there in the fall you have to get the Pumpkin Espresso Martini, one of the best drinks ever. Will absolutely be coming back here every time we're downtown.
