The almond croissant was over baked or dried up - either way they should know how long you can leave it out until it’s not good. The chocolate croissant - the dark chocolate two long pieces were not tasty - and it would have been better to crunch and spread it on the croissant . Service excellent! Will not come back as the product is not better than one bought at a plant supermarket Update: I just tasted the third product I bought - banana nut muffin- and it was the best, fresh enough bananas nuts honey and moist - I had to go back and change my one star to a two star. That receipe or added ingredient makes this a stand up and salute - the small delicious muffin.

Cute little modern French bakery with pastries, coffee and desserts. I have been wanting to stop by for ages, and I stopped in this afternoon after dropping off my kid for music classes across the street. Sadly just ate lunch so no need for pastries but I can always do an iced latte! They serve Chromatic brand coffee and you can get it with a variety of syrup flavors: caramel, hazelnut, raspberry, etc. $6 including tip. Honestly, it is a STEAL for handcrafted coffee compared to Starbucks - and it supports the neighborhood! We’ll be back for pastries, Preligen!

Dissatisfied with service. I bought a scone plus butter croissant there. In the car I discovered they gave me chocolate croissant instead. I came back, they exchanged for correct one. But no apology or offer to refund me $1 (the difference btw butter and chocolate).

Favorites: Almond Crossaint & Avocado Chocolate Coffee Hidden gem in San Jose. It is a minimal but amazing bakery. They have limited options but everything tastes delicious there.

Bakery with little complexity and absolutely amazing taste. On your first visit, definitely get Preligen's signature Almond Croissant .. doesn't skimp on the almond filing inside and the outside has a surprising nutty crunch ... Ham & Cheese croissant is also great, tasty cheese and thick ham on the inside and again, a great crunch on the outside. In fact, all of croissants at Preligen's are not oily and have a great outside crunch. You can tell that we're hooked and although need to travel 20+miles round trip to get there and back, it's ALWAYS worth the trip ... [hours 7am-3pm, closed on Wed / Thu]
