About Rare Society
Sink your teeth into Rare Society from Trust Restaurant Group, Chef + Restaurateur Brad Wiseβs west coast-based restaurant concept that pays homage to retro steakhouses. Keeping alive the echoes of vintage upscale dining, Chef Wise has reshuffled the deck to infuse a touch of modernity into the concept adding a wood-fired grill for meats, an on-premise dry ager, a progressive cocktail program and sustainably-sourced seafood. Rare Society absolutely knocked it out of the park. This was hands down the best steak weβve had in San Diego. Everything was cooked perfectly, incredibly flavorful and the whole experience was just exceptional from start to finish. Huge shoutout to Andrew, John, and Frieda for making the night even better. The service was outstanding, attentive and genuinely amazing! Great food, great atmosphere, and wonderful service. If youβre looking for a seriously good steak in San Diego, Rare Society is a must. Looking forward to coming back!

Came here with my dad after a hike (7 bridges hike). Weβre big steak eaters, and this place did not disappoint. Steak was juice and full of flavor. The Caesar salad is also a must. Crunchy and refreshing. Powder like cheese, hard to describe, like snow on top. Great ambiance. Perfect for a nice family gathering or date. Itβs cozy and dark. Staff is friendly. We didnβt have a reservation, front guy was able to get us a seat at the bar. The servers worked non stop. Making drinks. Serving. Taking orders. Also they were meticulous at checking the cleanliness of the glasses before making drinks. Good find in San Diego. Will come again to try the other stuff on the menu.

I recently took two of my managers to Rare Society for happy hour, and once again, it did not disappoint. If youβre planning to sit at the bar for happy hour, be sure to arrive a little early when they open at 5:00 PM, as bar seating is first come, first served. Everything else is typically by reservation. We enjoyed the happy hour signature burgers, fries, and a few drinks. The burgers were absolutely incredibleβjuicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection over their wood-fired grill. You can truly taste the difference in the quality and preparation. The atmosphere is outstanding, combining an upscale steakhouse experience with a warm, welcoming environment. The service is consistently exceptional. John, the general manager, is always gracious and hospitable, making guests feel appreciated and valued. Andrew, who was bartending during our visit, did a fantastic job and provided attentive, friendly service throughout the evening. Iβve also enjoyed their steaks in the past, and they are phenomenal. While Rare Society is certainly a premium dining experience, itβs worth every penny. From the food and drinks to the service and atmosphere, this is one of my favorite restaurants in San

Unassuming place from the outside. The inside was decorated with modern flair. Wish it was a tad bit more elegant to elevate the experience. The food was excellent! The starter wood fired lobster was decadent and dreamy. The clams were heavily seasoned, almost too much. The Caesar Salad was SO darn good. The Bullseye Ribeye was delicious and perfectly cooked as requested. 4.6 / 5 .. highly recommend!!

Five-star experience from start to finish. First time dining at Rare Society and it absolutely lived up to the hype. From the moment we sat down, everything was dialed in. We started with the hamachi crudo, which was outstanding; bright, fresh, and perfectly balanced. The house bread rolls with whipped butter were next-level and dangerously easy to overindulge in. The house Caesar salad was honestly to die for, one of the best Iβve had anywhere. For the main event, we ordered The Associate, adding the lamb lollipops, and every cut of meat was cooked perfectly. You can tell they take real pride in their execution. The chimichurri and salsa were excellent accompaniments and elevated the meats even more. As for sides, the broccolini stole the show, hands down the best side dish on the table and an easy 5 stars on its own. The only minor knocks: parking is rough, the first round of cocktails took forever, and the $30 potato au gratin just wasnβt worth the price compared to everything else on the menu. That said, those are small blemishes on an otherwise phenomenal experience. Top to bottom, Rare Society is a true 5-star steakhouse, and Iβll absolutely be back. Highly recommend.
