San Diego is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and San Diego follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

They refused to help me in any meaningful way. Staff act like you're annoying them when you ask a question and the security guard is unnecessarily rude. He seems to want to instigate problems out of nothing.

It says Law library on the building which I would assume means you could go and get resources and help with legal issues but that’s not at all the experience I’ve had and I’ve been twice. The law library in San Diego is nothing but entitled nonhelpful people that are only interested in clocking out at the end of the day and not helping people. Especially the African-American security guard gentleman. It’s like why do you even sign up for a job if you’re not gonna make any kind of contribution whatsoever to actually help people. At around 4:30 they’re gonna try to scoot you out so they can get off of work to their miserable lives. This place is garbage can’t believe San Diego allows it..

I cannot say enough good things about the San Diego Law Library. This place is truly one of the best environments if you need a quiet space to concentrate and get serious work done. The library is extremely peaceful, which makes it easy to focus for hours without distractions. Everyone who works here is incredibly helpful. The staff at the front desk are exceptional, friendly, patient, and always willing to guide you in the right direction. Even the security guard, who might look a little intimidating at first, turned out to be very kind and helpful. He actually helped me get my copies when I needed assistance. Speaking of copies, they are only $0.20 each, which is very reasonable. The library is also conveniently located right across from the San Diego Central Courthouse, making it perfect for anyone handling legal matters or doing research. Overall I absolutely love this place. Quiet, professional, helpful staff, and affordable services. 10/10. Highly recommended. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

SDLL is a valuable resource for legal research & learning. The San Diego Law Library is an excellent place for independent legal research, with open stacks that allow visitors to browse and explore a wealth of resources. While I appreciated their previous policy of allowing non-residents to check out certain guides and books, the library still offers outstanding opportunities for in-person study and reference. The copy room is available for use, and the staff is always polite and helpfulβ€”whether assisting with excerpts or answering research questions. Membership benefits include remote reference assistance, such as locating cases or retrieving excerpts from digitized print editionsβ€”an incredibly useful service. Additionally, the library plays a vital role in legal education, offering numerous programs for self-represented litigants and serving as a certified MCLE provider by State Bar. Whether you're a legal professional, a student, or navigating the court system on your own, this library is an indispensable resource.
