We checked into the Heritage Inn, dropped off our luggage, and immediately left to attend an event. When we returned a few hours later, we saw a roach crawling on the wall of our room. We packed our belongings and went straight to the front desk to request another room. The employee told us the hotel was completely sold out and could not move us. I then requested a refund because we were not willing to stay in a room with a roach. He told me that because it had been more than four hours since check-in, he could not issue a refund and that we would have to stay the night and speak with the manager in the morning. I told him that was absolutely not an acceptable option. He offered to cancel our second night, but I had already canceled the second night when we checked in, so we were only scheduled to stay for one night. He continued to say there was nothing he could do. I asked for the manager’s name and phone number, returned the room keys, and told him we were checking out immediately. We ended up walking across the street to the Holiday Inn Express, which thankfully had a room available for us at approximately 10:30 p.m. I truly wish we had booked there in the first place. Even

Customer service is a joke. I arrived at the lobby at 10 PM and found a sign on the window saying, “We’ll be back in 15 minutes, sorry for the inconvenience.” However, there were two staff members (a man and a woman) inside. I asked if it was possible to check in, but they didn’t even look at me—they completely ignored me and gave no response. I went back to my car and waited for 20 minutes before the guy finally spoke to me. My room was $130 per night—what a robbery. The room was very old, including all the furniture, and there wasn’t even a blow dryer in the bathroom. The carpet smelled, and the room was dirty. I even saw cockroaches crawling on the walls, in the shower, and near the bed. I couldn’t sleep because of that. I was supposed to leave in the morning after check-out, but after dealing with the cockroaches and not sleeping at all, I left the hotel at 6 AM. I will never stay here again and definitely do not recommend it to anyone. The pool was dirty as well.

Room was good for the price point. I was there for the NASCAR event in Coronado so it was close to the area. It's an older inn, and it seems like they are in the process of revamping the rooms. I say that because the shower, toilet and vanity look new compared to the room itself. The table in the room was only about 18" in diameter. It was barely big enough for my 15.6" laptop. The bed was comfortable enough. The one thing I did notice was my room didn't have a telephone? I told that to the staff when I was checking out of Room 202 and they were surprised to know that. Lots of places to eat within a mile radius.
