7/9/26 - great hotel with plenty of amenities. We reserved through the Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card and received a lot of benefits as the Pendry is within The Edit network. Our stay included $100 site credit which we could use on F&B plus a daily $60 allowance for breakfast. The rooms are nice and spacious and the concierge staff is very helpful. We rented a complimentary Cadillac and drove up to Hotel Del Coronado for the day. The Hotel also has a sports bar, on site restaurant, pool & hot tub, and wine bar.

Compared to other Pendry Hotel locations, the rooms here are dates, still with carpet, mismatching furniture, old, chipped, have that old smell. The beds are pristine and indeed quite comfortable, with great black out curtains. For the price per night I would not classify this as a 5 star top luxury hotel. The pool is nice, big plenty of seating. The sun does shine on the pool around 12pm tho, keep that in mind. The hotel building is beautiful, valet stuff is excellent, young and very helpful. Overall I had a lovely stay.

We've been loyal guests of the Pendry since 2018 and recently spent the weekend there again. Each time we hold our breath hoping to have the same experience as before as the standard is hard to uphold. We found that the service is still the best in the Gaslamp, the rooms well appointed with quality touches and amenities and the food outstanding. The staff exhibit a sense of pride in working there from the valets to housekeeping. With so many dining options and beautiful spaces it's easy to stay on property and question why you wouldn't. That said, I'm not sure we will return soon. The vibey, relaxing pool and pool area have been over run by kids and unattending adults. The entire property presents "adult" and to have 8-10 kids in the pool destroys everything the visionaries had in mind. No escaping to the hot tub either as they bounce back and forth. Please consider assigning hours for children or "adult only" time and bring back Sunday's pool party . I can't imagine the lost revenue as a result of the recent changes. We could only bear 30 minutes or so before getting "splashed and screeched" out! San Diego is a summertime family paradise but not sure the Pendry needs to be include

Was celebrating our birthday here for 2 nights and we were really surprised by the amazing service here. We usually don't expect much hospitality staying in hotels in America but they definitely go above and beyond. Daniel checked us in and he was very accommodating and friendly. We had a bit of misunderstanding that was completely our fault but they were quick to resolve it. Our son was given a rabbit plushie and that was such a nice touch for a hotel to do for children. Definitely kid friendly here and would highly recommend any Pendry location for their exemplary service. Thank you to all the staff, we are very grateful!

The Pendry San Diego is an exceptional luxury hotel with some of the best finishes and design details you’ll find anywhere downtown. The rooms are beautifully done — modern, fun, and thoughtfully designed — making the entire stay feel elevated from the moment you walk in. The pool area is fantastic and has a great energy, perfect for relaxing during the day or enjoying the atmosphere in the evening. The on‑site restaurant is excellent as well, with high‑quality food and a menu that feels both creative and refined. The staff deserves major credit too. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and genuinely focused on making the stay memorable. The location is a 10 out of 10 — right in the heart of downtown San Diego, walkable to everything, and surrounded by great dining and entertainment. The rooftop views are another highlight, offering a stunning perspective of the city and adding to the overall experience. Pendry San Diego delivers luxury, comfort, and style at every turn. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a top‑tier stay in downtown San Diego.
