San Diego is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and San Diego follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Found hair-covered debris on our nightstand mid-stay, and woke up with rash after sleeping in that room. When I called for immediate cleaning ASAP, the response was that a request had been "put in" and housekeeping had a "planned order" β a medical incident, apparently not urgent. Nobody came for 2 hours until I escalated in person. The front office manager did then replace the bedding and verbally comped one night. But after checkout, that comp never appeared β staff "do not recall" their own manager's promise, and no note was ever entered. Separately, our room went completely unserviced another day ("hotel was full, please understand"). Every interaction opened with an explanation of why it wasn't their fault; not once did anyone take ownership first. Now resolving through corporate. Bay views are nice. But get every commitment in writing before you leave the desk. Update: after numerous communication consistently failed, within merely 2 hours of posting this review, the property applied the promised credit and sent a corrected folio. Iβm glad itβs resolved β though it shouldnβt have taken a public review to honor a managerβs in-person commitment.

Great hotel for a vacation with little kids. About 1-1.5 mile walk to mission beach and ocean beach which kept us entertained for the entire day. The hotel has an amazing pool for kids and was very busy during the day. The food was amazing and the service was great. Our room comfortably for two pack and plays. It would have been a better trip overall if we had brought a car but we were able to see much of San Diego using the bus system and walking - there is a bus stop immediately outside the hotel. Great stay for our family. You have to get the fish tacos from the place next door

We had such a great stay at the Hyatt Regency San Diego Mission Bay. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful, especially the valet, bell man and front desk agents. They were always welcoming, quick, and made coming and going so easy. Valet parking is the same price as self parking and no fees for charging my car was a plus. Our room had an incredible view, and we were able to watch all of the Fourth of July fireworks from our balcony on the 11th floor. We upgraded (worth the price for views) to a suite Oh yeah, they have to goand had windows throughout and could see the fireworks from every direction of San Diego . It was such an unexpected highlight of the trip. I almost forgot to mention that theyβre pet friendly, and donβt Overcharge you. It was $100 for the stay. It was nice seeing dogs throughout the hotel. Weβd definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone visiting San Diego.

TL;DR: Great for conferences thanks to its convenient layout and onsite amenities, but the isolated location and limited nearby dining make it less appealing for a vacation stay. I stayed here for several days while attending a conference hosted at the hotel. As a conference venue, it worked well. The meeting rooms were close together, making it easy to move between sessions without trekking across the property. The hotel is family friendly, with multiple pools and outdoor games. I upgraded to a Tower room, which was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The main drawback was the lack of nearby dining options. Beyond the pool restaurant and a fish and chips spot a short walk away, there wasn't much within walking distance. Without a rental car and paid parking, you're largely dependent on rideshares or food delivery. Overall, the hotel was convenient and well suited for a conference, especially with everything onsite. However, I probably wouldn't choose it for a vacation, as the location felt somewhat isolated and I prefer areas with more restaurants and activities within walking distance. For a conference stay, though, it did exactly what I needed.
