I was a patient here & I gotta say the food was well, the security guards were a lil sketchy, some nurses were rude, but there were also a few empathic nurses that helped me whenever I wanted water or anything. They were the ones the made it a positive experience for me. I like how this hospital you can go out and play whatever you want for an hour and you have a “peer support” keeping you company while you’re outside. I hope anyone reading this recovers 🙏.

Been calling administration no answer all calls were made within the schedule on a Tuesday and no answer.

Psychiatry itself is deeply terribly troublingly unscientific. Different diagnoses withwhoever & wherever people may go. I was admitted here and recieved fairly adequate treatment. I was given “medicine” to calm me though I was calm and unmoving since admission and never posed a threat. That medicine caused me pain for 2 days. I was discharged the next day because there’s nothing I needed support with. I have been being harassed and discriminated against in the building I live in. They didn’t do that well at taking into consideration why I was angry as they stated on my paperwork. I bet if they had done to them what was done to me they’d be angry too. They said I had a mental problem which is untrue, SDPD brought me in and got to tell my story. Not mad at the experience but it’s not everyday someone is being attacked by SDPD and their apartment building. It’s too easy to take the side of the person who has the upper hand so in my opinion they did okay. The place they referenced me to for counseling after treated me horribly though… Also I almost forgot to add my anger was mentioned but not that I mentioned I have undiagnosed autism which is the reason I’ve struggled to maintain work, relationships, and housing. I will have to agree with other people that have posted reviews with One (1) Star. This place is just horrible. I was here yesterday afternoon, I checked in requesting to see a psychiatrist so that he or she can approve a refill. I stood there waiting for over an hour completely cold by the security desk and I was never called inside. There was only one other patient ahead of me an hour earlier. I'm not sure what is going on inside this facility. There's a lot of foot traffic but mostly are just staff either leaving for the day or arriving for the night shift. I don't want to be offensive, but 70% of them look like patients just by their demeanor and appearance. I saw that all of them had badges that says RN. ( I have to admit, I chuckled To myself after seeing the 20th staff member coming in or out. I really thought they were either patients because they look weird. I did not know they're all registered nurses.). I see a few reviews that are negative about the security guards. I actually was treated with respect, Because I myself conducted myself polite and with proper candor. I was also dressed nicely And clean. I did however notice that if you do look like a vagrant or destitut

I was taken to this facility in police custody for an alleged felony assault charge after bail posted for me. I had never been arrested nor have I previously spent any time in a psychiatric unit with the exception of my employment as a nurse practitioner. I am from Ohio and not aware of California laws and regulations.The care I received was phenomenal. The facility was spotless. I was suicidal at the jail where the conditions were deplorable. Throughout my stay the staff gave me hope. They understood me. No one ever treated me unfairly. I certainly wasn’t suicidal, in fact I felt hope for the future. I want to thank every individual working from 8pm April 2 to mid afternoon April 3: housekeeping , security, nursing staff, med techs, psychiatrists, LSW, and case managers. I will definitely follow up with your recommendations!

If I could rate a zero I would. My son was admitted on a 72 hour hold. He was released less than 24 hours later and was not stabilized. He was released with a bus pass after being told to call me when released as he would be unable to navigate the bus system to north county. I was not called and he was released with a bus pass. When he asked to use the phone to call me, he was denied and ushered to the street. He was lost for 3 days on the streets with no money, no phone, no meds. A grocery store worker in Point Loma found him trying to stay warm behind a garbage dumpster and allowed him to use his phone. This hospital should be avoided at all cost. They serve no purpose in doing anything useful for the community or the patients.
