San Francisco is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around San Francisco is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

My favourite church in San Francisco. A beautiful, breathtaking space with a lovely park out front in the heart of Little Italy. The ushers were kind, the service was warm, and the whole place has a very special Catholic feel.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review Saint Peter & Paul Parish is a truly beautiful and historic church in the heart of San Francisco’s Italian neighborhood. The architecture is stunning, and the atmosphere inside is peaceful, spiritual, and inspiring. Whether you come to pray, attend Mass, or simply admire its beauty, the church offers a sense of serenity and connection that is hard to find elsewhere. The rich history, elegant design, and welcoming community make it a special place to visit. A must-see landmark in North Beach and one of San Francisco’s most cherished treasures. ❤️⛪️ I loved visiting Saint Peter & Paul Parish. It is a beautiful, historic church with a deeply spiritual and uplifting atmosphere. Located in San Francisco’s charming Italian neighborhood, it feels like stepping into another era. The architecture is magnificent, and the peaceful environment invites reflection and prayer. Every visit leaves me feeling inspired and grateful. Highly recommended for anyone visiting North Beach or looking for a place of beauty and tranquility. ✨🙏🏻⛪️

Without a doubt a very beautiful church, with a great history given its architecture and options of masses prayed in English, Italian and Cantonese (I suppose it is because of immigrants from Macau, a former Portuguese colony in China). A very interesting brand of the mixture of 3 different peoples united by a religion.

Rising above the historic North Beach neighborhood with twin white spires that dominate the skyline near Washington Square Park. Often called the “Italian Cathedral of the West,” the church became the spiritual and cultural center of San Francisco’s Italian-American community.

Visiting Saints Peter and Paul Church felt like being transported to Rome. The architecture is absolutely beautiful — grand, detailed, and reverent in a way that immediately makes you pause. This is honestly my favorite church so far here in the U.S. There’s something about the atmosphere that feels sacred and timeless. My husband is Italian, and he loved it — which says a lot. It reminded us of the churches back in Italy. If you’re in San Francisco, especially in North Beach, this church is definitely worth visiting. Peaceful, stunning, and full of character.

Loved the 9:00 AM mass, as I was able to attend such a grand parish before a work site visit at the nearby Pier 39. The celebrant priest was a bit quiet and hard to hear, as it was an older Vietnamese man, but still great nonetheless. All in all, a very beautiful parish that I would love to visit again for a full weekend mass. I was in and out in ~35 minutes.

Saints Peter and Paul Church in North Beach, San Francisco I have lived in North Beach, San Francisco, for almost 25 years. One of the most interesting places here is Saints Peter and Paul Church. Whenever I visit Washington Square, I enjoy taking photos of this beautiful church. Saints Peter and Paul Church is a key part of the North Beach skyline. This Roman Catholic church has a rich history linked to the local community. The church stands on Filbert Street, next to Washington Square Park, but it didn’t always be there. The original church was built in 1884 at the corner of Filbert Street and Grant Avenue. Sadly, the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and fire destroyed it. However, the community wanted to rebuild. They laid the cornerstone for the new church in 1913, and by 1924, the church we see today, with its stunning twin spires, was completed. One fascinating part of the church's history is its connection to baseball legend Joe DiMaggio. Joe grew up in North Beach and was baptized here. When he married his first wife, Dorothy Arnold, in 1939, they took their wedding photos on the steps of the church. Later, when he married Marilyn Monroe in 1954, they returned to take phot

Beautiful Roman Catholic Church. Unfortunately I could not attend the church service, but it seemed well-maintained and open-to-public church. The church is a religious facility and I believe only those who can respect it should be allowed to visit. But if you are, this must be a good place to discover another historic side of San Francisco. ---- Visited again. And I confirmed it is a wonderful place to pay a visit in San Francisco to notice the history of this historic city. Also I really hope visitors to be respectful of the faith and not to disturb those who seek help in this house of God.
